Quincy Jones Speaking at CMW2014 in Toronto

Quincy Jones was in town for Canadian Music Week where he was interviewed and answered questions from the audience.  I was lucky to be in attendance.  He dropped some great anti-black racism gems for this predominantly  white audience.  I was impressed.  Here’s all the footage.  I wasn’t exactly in the best spot so I apologies in advance for the heads that got in the way.

Ernie Paniccioli Speaking in Toronto May 12th 2014

As alway’s it’s a pleasure and a gift to be in the presence of this magnificent man Ernie Paniccioli.  I got to witness him speak in Toronto last week about his photography, hip hop, history and basically just dropping gems all over the place.  As always I recorded it so here’s the whole interview in 14 parts. Enjoy.

Intersections Contact Photography Opening at Daniels Spectrum

Last night I had the pleasure of being one of the photographers exhibiting work at Daniels Spectrum on the 2nd floor.  Our series is entitled Intersections.  My section is Being Gender Fluid In A Gender Specific Society.  I got another piece but that’ll be revealed later.  Anyhow I”m pleased to be in the company of Wade Hudson, Jon Black, Yannick Anton, Buruk Early, Candace Nyaomi Boogs, Ebti Na, Dwayne Sybbliss, Soteeoh, Adeyami Adegbesan and curated by Elle Alconcel.  The work will be up until June 15th so if you didn’t make it out to the opening you still have a month to check it.  Work is for sale so don’t be shy with your wallets.

Anyhow here’s some action that you missed

Travis Scott at Opera House for CMW 2014

Travis Scott showed up in full force on Wednesday at the Opera House.  Dude’s got mad climbing skills cuz he climbed on everything. from mini balcony’s to 2nd floor an speakers.  The Crowd was live.  A lot of crowd surfer from both travis and crowd members.  At one point people from the crowd were jumping off stage into the crowd.  Unfortunately for some they realized how unforgiving toronto can be because some of them just ended up dropping to the floor.  Ya sometimes we don’t give a fuck and we will watch you fall on your as as opposed to making sure your safe.  They don’t call us screwface capital for nothing.  I was really impressed.  Representing for the G.O.O.D. music crew travis did well.

Naturally Born Strangers at Tattoo for CMW

Last night NBS  got turnt up at Tattoo Rock Parlour for Hustlegrl’s hip hop Canadian Music Week Showcase.  Rich Kidd, Adam Bomb and Tona were in fine form.  Mcing in the crowd, even in people’s ears (rich kidd is always nice and smooth with it).  The crowd was hype singing along, shouting out requests and just feeling the vibes.  The show was proper but that’s what you get when you put some of Tdot’s finest in a group.

Justin Bua and Russell Peters in Toronto

Last weekend Justin Bua was in town to chill at Redbull headquarters to sell some artwork.  He brought his buddy Russell Peter’s along to dj the festivities.  The party was off the chain.  Russell thru down some dope tunes and of course Justin was awesome.  Smiling and signing art for people.  I know a few people who got some goodies.  Maestro Fresh Wes and Jonathon Mannion were also up in the spot.

here’s some pics and video from the event.

Mia and Bun B bring the ruckus to Toronto

This weekend Mia kicked off CMW with a free performance at Tattoo rock parlour.  As always nuff high energy was in the place. A great stage carnival light set up and her dancers.  Mia brought the noise.  Minus some technical difficulties ( she had to tell the soundboy about himself) the show was spectacular.  Here’s some footage

Bun B rolled thru on Sunday an brought out Drizzy at the end.  The OG from Houston got the crowd amped. RIP Pimp C #ugkforlife
